About Apsara Market
Apsara Market is an asian grocery store in Columbus, Ohio. It is listed at 801 Harrisburg Pike, Columbus, OH 43223, which places it among the local businesses of Columbus that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Columbus with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Ohio may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 10 amβ7 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (614) 272-8170. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 54 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded asian grocery stores in Columbus.
Columbus is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Columbus is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Ohio's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

You could be forgiven for thinking that Apsara Market didn't look very promising. In a somewhat dicey and questionable strip mall and with a somewhat worn-out entryway sign, it looks like the market may have seen better days. However, on entering the shop, you will be surprised at the clean aisles, wide selection of mostly Southeast Asian products and very friendly staff. They are happy to share a story or help you find what you need. The selection of coffees, processed foods and speciality items is considerable but sadly, fresh (and frozen) produce is fairly limited. All in all, well worth a drop by and perusal. Shopping Star Sinay says: Be sure to investigate the home-made food items on display at the counter. You can do like me and grab a few Vietnamese-style unfried spring rolls and some steamed banana rice. Grab a drink and head for Mt. Gilead State Park for a "spur of the moment" Cambodian picnic.... if so inclined, of course.π

Given the name, I initially thought this was an Indian grocery store, but its actually Cambodian. There isn't a whole lot of overlap and most of the inventory is for a south east asian customer base. That said, the store is clean, well laid out and the staff is friendly. The only reason I'm removing a star is because there's a tiny selection of products and produce. This is not a one stop shop, but rather a niche store for generic Cambodian goods (not even specialty items).

I am African American & when I go here I feel welcome everytime. It appears family-owned & although small & donβt have a ton of stuff (also due to coronavirus), I go here everytime I need something b/c I feel like giving my $$ to small business owners who really do make me feel like they are here to help out customers & appreciate my business. I live in Galloway so itβs a little of a drive from me considering there are a couple asian stores closer to me, yet I come here b/c this is a store that deserves much more business for taking care of customers the way we need if you have questions & donβt make me feel bad for asking. This is a hidden gem everyone should go & support.
